Coach Maegen Dillon joins the Cardiff Sockers after completing her collegiate soccer career as captain of the Connecticut College Varsity Women’s Soccer team. During her time at Conn College, she earned NESCAC All-Academic Team honors along with awards for art and leadership. Soccer has always been a central part of Maegen’s life, from community pick-up games to evenings on the field with her family growing up.
She has competed in several international tournaments with Marin FC—traveling to Denmark and Sweden in 2015, and to Spain and Portugal in 2017, even winning a few tournaments along the way!
In high school, Maegen was a four-year varsity soccer player and also ran track and cross country. Recruited in her sophomore year, she went on to play all four years of college soccer in the highly competitive NESCAC conference. As a senior, she was named team captain and helped lead her team to an NCAA Championship bid.
Coach Maegen shares that “The most important part of youth competitive soccer is developing confidence, resilience, creativity, and a love for the game.” She is especially passionate about empowering young girls to use their voices and trust themselves on the field. Coach Maegen emphasizes that players can compete with grit and determination while also being respectful to their teammates, opponents, and referees. She believes that healthy competition is what makes soccer so fun! She is excited to work with the Sockers players to provide the same kind of positive and empowering experiences that shaped her own love for the game growing up.
Currently, Maegen is pursuing her J.D. at Chapman University Fowler School of Law and will graduate in 2027.
