Drew ruggles
Coach Drew hails from Fayetteville, North Carolina and brings player and coaching experience to the Cardiff Sockers. He’s currently also playing with the San Diego Sockers as an experience MASL player, having also played with the Florida Tropics, Milwaukee Wave, and Baltimore Blast. He’s also been a starter for the past two WMF World Cup clubs for Team USA, appearing in Australia and the United Arab Emirates and was part of the million-dollar winning team Newtown Pride FC at the inaugural TST 7-v-7 tournament in the summer of 2023.
Coach Drew has coached youth and grassroots soccer for the last 12 years, been a camp director, and provided private training for players looking to improve their skills. He played collegiately at Georgia Southern before beginning his professional career outdoors with USL Championship sides Wilmington and Rochester, and USL League Two’s Michigan Bucks.

Has a “soccer family through and through” with Tristan and children Parker and Remy. You’ll most likely see his kids around the fields kicking a ball during practice!
