Coach Carlos Jimenez brings a wealth of top level professional experience (and good stories!) from his playing days, having shared a dressing room with renowned Spanish internationals such as Raúl García, Nacho Monreal, Javi Martínez, and César Azpilicueta. Coach Carlos played for Osasuna in Spain, who currently play in La Liga, and shares that “one of my best memories is when we played against Barcelona, against Messi! We even beat them! I am very grateful for all the coaches that I had the opportunity to learn from: Cuzo Ziganda, Andoni Goikoetxea, Javier Lerga, Jan Urban…It is surprising so many different tips you can learn from each of them.”
Coach Carlos is excited to bring this background to the youth soccer fields with the Cardiff Sockers and believed that soccer is “all about the Team. Great achievements come when all the players run together in the same direction. It is not about how far you can get. It is about the journey; it is about the great people you share the ride with! Joy and memories will stay with you forever.”
